Well, being bald could be cool, I think. I mean, every breeze feels like a cool wind on your head; when the sun goes behind a cloud, your head feels like a giant ice cube....... It's pretty cool. However, I don't think it really suits me. And, as my mom pointed out (multiple times) it just doesn't look respectful. Draws the wrong kind of attention. I tried to explain that I have always looked weird, it just wasn't something she noticed until I was looking weird to her. And, those tattooed, bearded biker guys whom I was talking to in the parking lot of the drug store was a legitimate case of mistaken identity. They thought I was a delivery guy and had a "package" for them. Could of happened to anyone. I had said if anyone complained about my being bald, I would agree to change it..... And even if I don't know anyone who doesn't like it besides my mom, she says she doesn't like it, and according to our agreement, that's all it takes. :)

I therefore asked her to please touch it up a little, and she kindly agreed. Soooo, here is the new, new look :)

One negative I had not thought of is how often I'd have to shave to keep it smooth on top. It's only been a day, and look at the growth!

Thanks to Daniel for this photo as well as of the other ones :P

Finally

Allow me to begin with a small disclaimer. If you are not specifically interested in the little day to day things with which I am involved, I wouldn't even bother reading further. For this is as boring and, well, stupid a post as I have ever done. This, basically, chronicles my latest hair chop.

Now, as few of you probably noticed, (and even less cared) I have been allowing my hair to grow even longer than I usually do. And I don't really know why, except that I had a small Idea in the back of my head that would be really fun to do. Here's my hair 2 days ago, just before I got them all cut.

(Now, my mom is smiling here, but I don't think she was entirely convinced that what she was about to do was a good idea.)

Now, I had been mentioning my idea to my friends over the last little while, with very poor feedback. In fact, entirely negative feedback. Now, this may happen to me naturally one day. However, I felt that if I didn't summon  the courage to do it now, I never would. And, with my mother's VERY reluctant permission (and help, as she was the one who shaved it off) I decided to go for the shiny dome look. Now, my apologies for this picture. Daniel had agreed to take some pictures of me; however, he wanted to be really quick, and he didn't tell me that I looked like a biker with a hate complex after he had taken this picture. He just said "look serious" and then after it was done said it looked fine. So, I'll try and get some pictures of me looking less like a hitman and post them later. However, it won't be like this for long. My mom already doesn't like it. So, I'll have to grow it back. And today I didn't have a hat this morning, and let me tell you, the sun is a real cooker!!! Anyway, I took these pictures last night. Here is the damage

BEFORE

AFTER!

I think this will really work on me...... when I'm 85. Now, I just think it's gonna be a long summer :( On the positive side, I do hope to use less shampoo :)

I was in Idaho this week.....

...for the wedding of a good friend. Another good friend had been asked to take the pictures, and I had planned to go and help the photographer take pictures by holding stuff, changing the batteries in his flash, make sure someone was fanning him if it turned out to be a hot day. However, the Lord had other plans for both of us; My friend, David, became a father for the second time (in a year, i might add) and I got to go and take wedding pictures for first time. Actually when you think about it, it was new experiences for both of us. David become the father of 2 sons, and I got to take pictures of people for the first time life. Just about, anyway. All this to say, here a few of the pictures I took just as the came off my memory card.

Sundown on river

Hmmm. Maybe one more....

Well, I guess that's enough for now.

Oh, you thought I would post people pictures? Well, maybe later :P

God Bless!

Just a quick word

I was trying to think of something post, and my recurring theme seemed to indicate that I shouldn't bother as the theme was, I don't do anything all that interesting, and nothing of interest happens to me. It then crossed my mind that prehaps lots happens and the only thing holding me back (besides a complete lack of time) is my penchant for assuming that no one really cares unless it's super major. Nothing super major has happened in so long however, I am resorting to a lesser story that goes more in the way of a short thankfulness note.

In a nutshell, I was driving last Sunday on a local Hwy between my home and the City of Salmon Arm when I had a slight vehicle accident. I came around a corner and there were two vehicles side by side going northbound in a 2 lane Hwy. One of them was stopped and turning left; the other was passing the first vehicle on the shoulder and moving quite slowly.  I tried to stop, however due to the fact I wasn't paying enough attention at the first, and going a little faster than an almost blind corner would normally be navigated at, I found myself desperately steering around first one and then the other vehicle. Through only the Lords mercy and grace I found myself past both vehicles without damage to either. I was however still moving pretty good, and that combined with a slight sideways slide in which I found myself made correcting and regaining control of  my vehicle impossible; I caught the snow bank on the far side of the hwy, spun around 180 degrees and flipped off the shoulder onto the roof of my vehicle and coming to stop in a field with about 3 foot snow. I was unhurt, except for a slight bruise on my leg, and this despite the fact that I did not have my belt on at the time of the accident. My GMC Jimmy definitely took the worst of it; however I have so much to be grateful for, in that the Lord kept me safe, didn't allow me to hit anyone else, or cause any major damage to personal or public property. So I wanted to remind everyone that to take for granted a single breath, to allow secondary goals to become our primary ones over and above our relationship with Christ, to lose for even a second our constant thankfulness and dependence on Him for everything, would be a horrible sin. Thus let us remember to be thankful in little things as well as the large, and at the end of each day thank Him for His mercy, and then when trials and troubles come, we will hopefully have learned to be thankful for that too.

May the Lord bless you and keep you safe in the days and weeks ahead :)
